1941
‧Born at Malan Township, Taitung on Feb. 20.
1946 (5 years old)
‧Moved to Taipei.
1956 (15 years old)
‧Passed the exam, and entered Department of Arts and Crafts, National Arts School.
‧The 1st place of Taiwan Provincial Violin Contest.
1958 (17 years old)
‧Transferred to Department of Music.
1959 (18 years old)

‧Joined in China Youth String Band/ Ensemble (predecessor of China Youth Orchestra).

1960 (19 years old)

‧Served as the resident artist at China Hotel and performed chamber music; he accumulated pretty abundant experience of performance from it.

1961 (20 years old)

‧Graduated from National Taiwan Academy of Arts, and held a personal solo concert accompanied by Anna Teng.
‧Served as the chief first violinist of Taipei Symphony Orchestra.
‧After graduating from school, he returned to the hometown Taitung to hold a personal violin recital.
‧Cooperated with China Youth Orchestra to perform Beethoven Violin Concerto D major at International Society; it was the first time that this musical work was performed in Taiwan.
‧Formed “Composers’ Forum” with Hsu Tsang-Houei, et al.

1964 (23 years old)
‧Was discharged from active military service as a guard, air force.
‧Served as the chief first violinist of Taipei Symphony Orchestra.
1966 (25 years old)

‧Held a joint concert with Yang, Li-Li, and they were touring Hualien, Taitung, and Tainan.
‧Married Hsu, Shou-Mei, settled down in Taitung, served as a teacher of Bei Nan Junior High School, and taught in Taitung Senior High Commercial & Vocational School for some hours in addition to his primary job.
‧Instructed Yang, Chun, the chief actor of the movie “A Woman in the Tower” to play violin, and played the first movement of Felix Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto behind the scenes.

1967 (26 years old)

‧Composed aboriginal Mass.
‧Published “String Quartet No. 1.”

1970 (29 years old)

‧Moved back to Taipei from Taitung.
‧Published “String Quartet No. 2.”
‧Worked in Sing Ying Company—an advertising company in Taiwan, and was engaged in the music composition of advertising works, to be with great help to practical skills.
